Banana Skin Sheet
Sourced from banana plants widely grown across Thailand’s tropical regions—especially in the central and northern provinces—this material is made by peeling the outer layers of the banana trunk or plii ton kluay (banana blossom sheath), then sun-drying them to preserve their natural texture.
The surface reveals fine linear fibers with a soft, rustic tone. Lightweight yet durable, the material is flexible and easy to work with, making it ideal for handcrafted floral art.
Almost every part of the banana plant can be transformed into flower-making materials—from the outer trunk skin and banana sheaths to the inner blossom layers. Each part offers different textures, thicknesses, and shades, allowing crafters to mix and match them to create unique forms and visual contrast.
In floral design, the dried trunk skin can be cut, curled, or layered to form petals, leaves, or textural accents. Each piece showcases the raw beauty of nature, coming together in harmony when paired with a touch of creativity.
